Materials:
150 g of Lana Grossa „Colmo” (55% Merino wool, 25% baby alpaca, 20% superkid mohair; 120 m/50 g) in Natural (col 1), 100 g each in Dark Grey (col 3), Antique Pink (col 5) and Grey-Brown (col 6) and 50g in Light Grey (col 2). Size 5.5 mm needles; size 6 mm crochet hook.

Rib pattern:
K1, p1.

Stockinette:
K on RS, p on WS [selvage sts are also worked in stockinette].

Gauge:
17.5 sts and 25.5 rows = 10 x 10 cm in stockinette on size 5.5 mm needles.

Instructions:
Poncho is worked side to side. Arrow on schematic shows direction of work. With size 5.5 mm needles and Antique Pink, cast on 97 sts. Beginning with a WS row and working first st after selvage st as p1, work in rib pat for 3 cm, ending with a WS row. Next, work in stockinette and work stripes as foll: 2 rows Antique Pink, 8 rows Grey- Brown, 2 rows each Natural, Antique Pink, Light Grey, 8 rows Dark Grey, 16 rows Natural, 2 rows Antique Pink, 14 rows Grey-Brown, 8 rows Dark Grey, 8 rows Antique Pink, 8 rows Natural, 2 rows each Grey-Brown, Antique Pink, Light Grey, 20 rows Natural, 8 rows Dark Grey, 18 rows Grey-Brown, 8 rows Antique Pink, 8 rows Natural, 10 rows Light Grey = 158 rows and poncho measures approx. 65 cm from cast-on. Next, work another 158 rows in stockinette, reversing stripe sequence. With Antique Pink work 3 cm in rib pat, then bind off all sts in rib.

Finishing:
Pin poncho to measurements and block. Fold poncho according to schematic [right side edge is on top]. Sew seam over 42 cm, leaving 23 cm open for neck edge. Make and attach fringe: For each fringe, cut 5 strands of yarn, one in each color and each strand 30 cm long. Insert crochet hook into fabric from WS, fold 5 strands of yarn in half to form a loop, draw loop through fabric, then draw yarn ends through loop and tighten. Attach a row of fringe along bottom edge. Attach 1 fringe every 2 cm. Trim fringe to 14 cm.
