Materials:
250 (300) g of Lana Grossa „Arioso” (48% Merino wool, 30% baby alpaca, 22% polyamide; 240 m/50 g) in Rosewood (col 19). Size 6 mm needles; size 5 mm crochet hook.

Slip stitch selvage:
Knit the fi rst st of every row and slip the last st of every row as if to purl with yarn in front of work.


Chart pattern:
Numbers at left edge of chart indicate WS rows; numbers at right edge of chart indicate RS rows. Beg chart pat with sts before fi rst arrow, work 3 sts between arrows for pat repeat, end with sts after 2nd arrow. Chart shows 3 pat reps. Work rows 1 – 4 of section A once, then work rows 3 and 4 of section A 11 times = 26 rows, then work rows 27 and 28 of section A once. Next, work rows 29 – 48 of section B once, then work rows 45 – 48 of section B twice, then work rows 57 – 76 of section B once, then work rows 73 – 76 of section B 5 times, then work rows 97 – 128 of section B once. Next, work rows 129 – 133 of section C once, then rep rows 130 – 133 of section C throughout.


Gauge:
14 sts and 27.5 rows = 10 x 10 cm in chart pat on size 6 mm needles.


Back:
With size 6 mm needles, cast on 85 (91) sts. Beginning with a WS row, work in chart pat, working sections and repeating rows withing sections as instructed. When back measures 59 (60) cm from cast-on, shape shoulders as foll: Bind off 9 (8) sts at each shoulder edge once, 6 (7) sts 4 times. Bind off remaining 19 sts.


Left front:
With size 6 mm needles, cast on 34 (37) sts. Beginning with a WS row, work in chart pat, working sections and repeating rows within sections as instructed. When left front measures 59 (60) cm from cast-on, shape shoulder at right edge as foll: Bind off 9 (8) sts at beg of next RS row, 6 (7) sts at beg of next 3 RS rows, 7 (8) sts at beg of next RS row. No sts remain.


Right front:
Work same as for left front, reversing all shaping.


Sleeves:
With size 6 mm needles, cast on 55 (58) sts. Beginning with a WS row, work in chart pat as foll: Work rows 3 and 4 of section A 5 times, then work rows 27 and 28 of section A once = 12 rows total. Next, work rows 29 – 40 of section B once, then work rows 61 – 108 of section B once, working rows 73 – 76 three times. Loosely bind off all sts.


Finishing:
Pin pieces to measurements and block. Sew shoulder seams. Front bands [make 2]: With size 6 mm needles, cast on 16 sts and work according to chart section A for 67 (68) cm. Bind off all sts. Sew cast-on edges of front bands tog. With seam at center of back neck edge, sew front band to right front, back neck and left front edge. Place markers 19 (20) cm down from shoulders on fronts and back. Sew on sleeves between markers. Beginning 38 cm up from lower edge, sew side seams over 2 cm, then sew sleeve seams.


Make and attach fringe:
For each fringe, cut 2 strands of yarn, each strand 25 cm long. Insert crochet hook into fabric from WS, fold 2 strands of yarn in half to form a loop, draw loop through fabric, then draw yarn ends through loop and tighten. Attach a row of fringe along open side seams and along top of sleeve. Attach 1 fringe every 2 cm. Trim fringe to 12 cm.
