Materials: Lana Grossa "Lord" (70% new wool merino, 20% silk, 10% polyamide, running length 131 yrd/50 g), 450 (550, 650) g brown (col 2), knitting needles size 7 and 8 (US), 5 buttons, approx 2,5 cm (approx 1?) ø (Union Knopf, no 47948).
Border pattern: Alt K1, P1.
Stockinette stitch: RS rows = K, WS rows = P.
Reversed stockinette stitch: RS rows = P, WS rows = K.
Striped Pattern: Alt K1, P3 worked straight.
Accent cast off: Within row p2tog 2 sts before end of row for each co.
Gauges: Stripe pattern: 17 sts and 25 rows = 10 x 10 cm (approx 4" x 4").
Back: Cast on 63 (89, 95) sts with needles size 7 and work 2 cm (approx 0,8") in border pattern. Then cont with needles size 8 in stripe pattern, thereby work first 4 (5, 4) sts in rev stst after selv st, work 72 (76, 84) sts in stripe pattern and end row with K1, 4 (5, 4) sts rev stst, selv st. When work measures 14 cm (approx 5,5") from beg co 1 st on both sides and then another 2 x 1 sts in every 6th (8th, 8th) row for hip slant, work acc co = 77 (83, 89). When work measures 19 (20, 20) cm (approx 7,5", 7,9", 7,9") from beg cont in rib pattern. When work measures 24 (25, 26) cm (approx 9,4", 9,8", 10,2") from beg inc 1 st on both sides and then another 2 x 1 st in every 10th row for side slant = 83 (89, 93) sts. When work measures 36 (37, 38) cm (approx 14,2" resp 14,6“ resp 15") co 3 sts, then another 1 x 2 sts and 5 x 1 st in every 2nd row on both sides for armholes. When work measures 56 (57, 59) cm (approx 22", 22,4", 22,8") from beg co rem 63 (69, 75) sts in one go.
Left front: Cast on 36 (40, 44) sts with needles size 7 and work like back piece, but start stripe pattern from right edge with 4 (5, 4) sts in rev stst after selv st, work 24 (28, 32) sts in stripe pattern and end row with K1, 4 (5, 4) sts rev stst, selv st. When work measures 47 (48, 50) cm (approx 18,5", 18,8", 19,3") from beg co 4 (5, 6) sts, then another 1 x 2 sts and 4 (5, 6) x 1 st each in every 2nd row for neckline on left edge. When work measures 56 (57, 59) cm (approx 22", 22,4", 22,8") from beg co rem 16 (18, 20) sts in one go for shoulder.
Right front: Work like left front but in reverse.
Sleeve: Cast on 45 (45, 49) sts with needles size 7 and work 2 cm (approx 0,8") in border pattern. Then cont with needles size 8 in stripe pattern, thereby work first 3 sts in rev stst after selv st, work 36 (36, 40) sts in stripe pattern and end row with K1, 3 sts rev stst, selv st. When work measures 18 cm (approx 7") from beg cont in rib pattern. Simultaneously inc 1 st on both sides and then another 7 x 1 st in every 8th row for sleeve slant = 61 (61, 65) sts. When work measures 43 cm (approx 17") co 3 (3, 4) sts, then another 1 x 2 sts, 13 x 1 st and 1 x 3 sts in every 2nd row on both sides for sleeve head. Co rem 19 (19, 21) sts in one go when work measures 56 cm (approx 22") from beg.
Finishing: Co 15 (15, 19) sts each for pockets and work as foll: Selv st, 12 (12, 16) sts in stripe pattern, K1, selv st. When work measures 11 cm (approx 4,3") from beg co all sts in one go. Attach pockets to front pieces and place them 5 cm (approx 2,5") from lower edge and 7 (8, 9) cm (approx 2,8", 3,1", 3,5") from front edge. For front bands pick up 80 (82, 86) sts each from edges of front pieces with needles size 7 and work 5 cm (approx 2,5") in stst. Work 5 buttonholes into right front piece after 2,5 cm (approx 1"). Co 2 sts for each buttonhole and cast them on again in foll row. Work 1st buttonhole 5 (6, 6) cm (approx 2,5", 2,7") from bottom edge, the foll buttonholes spaced 6,5 (6,5; 7) cm (approx 2,6", 2,6", 2,8") apart. Join shoulder seams. Pick up 83 (91, 99) sts with needles size 7 from edge of neckline leaving out small sides of bands and work 10 cm (approx 4") in rib pattern. Then co all sts as they appear. Join small sides of collar and upper edges of small sides of front bands at 2 cm (approx 2,5") from pick up edge. Join side and sleeve seams. Sew in sleeves. Sew on buttons.
